Four-Way Forklifts

Objective: The efficient handling of long goods

Sichelschmidt
The Sichelschmidt M 900 4-way forklift sets the standard for efficient, space-saving handling and transport of long loads. With conventional trucks, the turning radius determines the ability to manoeuvre in narrow aisles and the driver must always consider the width of the load when loading and unloadingWith the M 900, things are much simpler: the minimum aisle width is similar to the length of the reach truck. The M 900 can move sideways at the touch of a button. This forklift is ideal for precise handling of long goods and safe navigation in narrow aisles.

The core concept: A clear view of the load at all times

Unlike other four-way forklifts, the M 900 is designed as a front-seat unit. This means the driver always has a clear view of the load. For instance a driver is not required to turn around when driving out of an aisle to ensure that the long goods fit around a corner. Additionally, the driver can safely exit the forklift even when it is in the aisle if necessary.

The trend: From four-way to multidirectional trucks

The M 900's sensitive electronic control system enables highly precise load handling. For lateral movement, the operator can activate a hand lever valve, allowing the right front wheel to swivel continuously by 90°, enabling multi-directional movement. An optional steering preselection program allows the operator to choose the direction of travel at the push of a button. When activated, the right front wheel and drive wheel automatically adjust for lateral or straight-line movement. This feature allows precise maneuvering of the forklift, even in very confined spaces, effectively transforming it into a versatile, multi-directional vehicle.

The Load: From Euro Pallets to Long Goods

The optional hydraulic fork adjustment enhances operational flexibility, enabling the M 900 to transport both long goods and standard pallets. The reach mast design ensures high stability, even when handling wide and heavy loads.

The Dimensions: Truly Compact

The M 900 is exceptionally compact and, thanks to the reach mast principle, still offers high stability. A minimal aisle width is sufficient for storing and retrieving long goods. The wheel arms demonstrate that even individual components were designed with a focus on compact construction, making the M 900 particularly versatile.

The Drive: AC Power, of Course

It goes without saying that the multidirectional forklift trucks are equipped with the latest drive technology: After all, Sichelschmidt has been a pioneer in the introduction of three-phase drives in industrial trucks since 1992. The powerful 48 volt ASM motors for the travel and lift drive ensure high handling performance and low energy consumption. The hydraulic two-point brake makes manoeuvring easier and contributes to safe driving.

The Ergonomics: Everything under control

The modern design indicates that ergonomics played a crucial role in development, ensuring optimal collaboration between operator and machine. From the ease of entry and exit to the adjustable and comfortable seat, and the thoughtfully arranged controls, every feature is designed to enable the operator to work with the highest focus.

The Service: Simple and Cost-Effective

The ASM drive eliminates the need for wear-prone components such as carbon brushes and directional contactors. The drive elements are easily accessible. Additionally, Sichelschmidt forklifts are known for their robust construction, high-quality components, and exceptional durability, even under harsh conditions. This minimizes service requirements and increases the resale value of the forklift truck.

The Product Range: Tailored to your Needs

The M 900 is available with load capacities of 2 tons, 2.5 tons, and 3 tons. Various masts are available, reaching lift heights of up to 8.50 meters. Flexible manufacturing allows the integration of individual customer requirements.

The Extras: Extremely diverse

With numerous options, the M900 can be perfectly adapted to specific application profiles. Even the standard M900 meets many requirements, offering users various choices. For instance, instead of the tiltable fork carriage, a tiltable mast can be selected, providing greater handling flexibility in narrow aisles. Additionally, teh forklift truck can be equipped with SE tires, which is appropriate for transportation procedures on uneven ground.

The Tradition: Almost 50 years of four-way forklifts.

The basic principle of the M 900 has a long tradition: Sichelschmidt built the first four-way forklift in 1960, achieving immediate success. Since then, engineers have continuously developed these extremely flexible industrial trucks. The experience of previous frorklift generations lead to the latest result, which is the M 900.

The Market: A wide range of applications.

The M900 was developed for both long loads and the transport of Euro pallets, facilitating a wide range of applications. The usage typically includes the steel, wood, pipe manufacturing, aircraft construction and maintenance industry. Furthermore, it includes organizations that process plastic or metal profiles.

The latest generation: State-of-the-art.

The latest generation of the M900 features numerous detailed improvements. At first sight, the new protective driver roof stands out, blending harmoniously into the modern design of the multi-directional forklift. Additionally, there are improvements in the control elements and the drive system, further enhancing the performance and productivity of the multi-directional forklift.

The added bonus of work safety

The design of the M900 facilitates constant vasibility oft he entire load while traveling sideways. Another advantage of this design is that the operator of the M900 can unhamperedly exit the forklift truck at any time, even in the narrowest of aisles.
